The Trans-Tasman Test Series is a best-of-three series between the two top Touch Football nations in the world, Australia and New Zealand. The rivalry between the Pain Away Australia Emus and the Touch Blacks is strong. The Open Trans-Tasman comprises of Men's, Women's and Mixed divisions. In 2023, there will also be a Pacific Youth Touch Cup for Under-18s and Under-20s.

Australia's national representative Touch Football teams are known as the Athelite Australian Emus. The highest-level Athelite Australian Emus teams are the Men's Open, Women's Open, and Mixed Open teams. Unlike other team sports, there are Mixed divisions at the most elite level of Touch. Touch Football athletes can also represent the Emus at Youth and Masters levels. The Emus represent Australia in Touch World Cup events and Trans-Tasman Test Series.

Held at Harker Oval, New Lambton (Newcastle), three exciting exhibition games – Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed – were held on the afternoon of Saturday April 23rd, 2022. After several years of COVID enforced hiatus, this was the players chance to prove themselves to their teammates, their coaches, and the fans.
