Touch Football Academies

APPLICATION FOR ENDORSEMENT

On application (see Endorsement Application form) a school shall be required to provide an overview of their Course/Program to TFA for assessment. Further, the school will need to meet all four standard criteria below.

CRITERIA FOR ENDORSEMENT OF SCHOOL BASED TOUCH FOOTBALL PROGRAMS, SCHOOLS OF EXCELLENCE IN TOUCH FOOTBALL, PROGRAMS AND/OR CENTRES OF ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT

1. The Course Co-ordinator or Head Teacher/Coach should be both, an accredited coach with a minimum Talent Level or above accreditation, and a TFA accredited course facilitator. This person should be the person responsible for program outcomes and be involved in the delivery of same.

2. The course should provide students with an ability to receive TFA approved accreditation in either or both (preferred) of the following – Level 1 Refereeing and/or Foundation Level Coaching. Accreditation course costs are to be covered by the school. 3. The course should provide demonstrated links to community competitions including elite pathways for players and/or official. A school will need to detail how this occurs.

4. The Course Co-ordinator or Head Teacher/ Coach reports the number of students who participate in the course (for TFA Participation Reporting purposes).

ENDORSEMENT INFORMATION

A school will receive endorsement for two years with an audit conducted at the end of this period to determine future endorsement. A school needs to verify that they continue to satisfy the criteria. (e.g. teachers move schools etc.) in order to continue to be endorsed.

NON- ENDORSEMENT

Should the school not meet the criteria outlined below there are still opportunities to be involved in Touch Football. The Sporting Schools Program is a national program administered by the Australian Sports Commission with TFA partnering to deliver quality Touch Football participation opportunities in schools. All schools with primary school aged students can apply for funding, while for secondary schools it is limited to those schools selected by the Australian Sports Commission.
