Touch Football Australia (TFA) has ratified two major governance frameworks, the National Selection Policy and the National Coach and Manager Appointment Policy, reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to transparent and equitable high-performance processes.

The National Selection Policy sets out the framework for selecting athletes for the Athelite Australian Emus National Squads and Teams, ensuring selections are based on merit and performance. The National Coach and Manager Appointment Policy provides guidelines for appointing head coaches, assistant coaches, and team managers, promoting a fair and transparent process for leadership roles within the high-performance program.

Chairperson of the Working Group, Sharyn Williams said:

"Our working group – made up of experienced coaches, industry experts, elite players, and HP staff – worked tirelessly to develop policies that reflect our vision for a stronger, more connected touch football performance system.”

TFA Chief Executive Officer, Marcus Ashcroft said:

"These new policies are a landmark step for TFA. They provide clarity and consistency across our high-performance pathways, ensuring that athletes, coaches, and managers can have confidence in the integrity of our selection and appointment processes."

Both policies are effective immediately and will be applied to the upcoming Asia Pacific Seniors Touch Cup in October 2026 in Japan. Expressions of Interest (EOI) for athlete selections, coaching, and management roles will open soon via the TFA website and official social media channels.

These policies mark a significant milestone for TFA, reinforcing an open, inclusive, and high-performance pathway that empowers athletes, coaches, and managers to succeed nationally and internationally.
