VOY HERO

Balmain Touch Association’s Sharlene Wong, who was recognised as the Bristol Paint Touch Football Australia (TFA) Volunteer of the Year for 2022 in April, has selflessly donated her prize to her parents.

Sharlene was recognised for the multiple roles she performs at the inner Sydney competition and her unwavering commitment to ensure participants gain enjoyment from her dedication.

As part of the recognition, Sharlene received a home renovation and paint project valued at $15,000 courtesy of Bristol Paint. In her true selfless spirit Shar donated this prize to her parents, Nancy and Jimmy, who used it to refreshen their home recently.

“I was excited to gift the prize to my parents who are over the moon with their newly painted home. I would like to thank Bristol Paint for the prize, it’s amazing what a new coat of paint can do!” Sharlene said.

Nancy was ecstatic to receive the home renovation.

“It is like having a new home!Nancy said.

We are very happy for Sharlene who has worked extremely hard at Balmain Touch. I would like to thank Bristol Paint for the initiative which has given our home a much needed touch-up”

PPG Marketing Manager, Bristol and Johnstone’s Professional Woodcare Sophie Roknic said Bristol Paint was proud to support and give back to local volunteers who are used to giving their time and not receiving anything for themselves.

Just like our local Bristol stores, Touch Football competitions exist for local communities. Sharlene’s dedication and impact on her local community was clear and it was great to deliver the prize and see the impact it’s had on Sharlene and her parents.Roknic said.
