NITFKO 2019 D2 71

Touch Football Australia (TFA) is pleased to welcome the Regional Enterprise Development Institute (REDI.E) as presenting partner of the 2022 National Indigenous Touch Football Knockout (NITFKO).

The NITFKO is an annual event held in Dubbo NSW and plays a crucial role in promoting positive health messages and encouraging physical activity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in a relaxed social environment. The event forms a key part of TFA’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) aiming to create a sense of community, inclusive participation, enjoyment and reconciliation.

REDI.E is a proud indigenous owned and operated organisation based in Dubbo that exists to support indigenous communities by opening doors to opportunity, positive career pathways and delivery of community services throughout the Murdi Paaki region of NSW.

As part of the partnership, REDI.E will provide local administration assistance and operational expertise working in step with TFA staff to deliver the event, providing event management opportunities. REDI.E’s support will also ensure an attractive cash prize pool is offered to incentivise participation.

TFA General Manager Participation Brad Mitchell thanked REDI.E for their support.

“We are extremely pleased to partner with REDI.E who with their vast local knowledge, experience, and connections will assist and educate our team to deliver a quality experience that considers and caters to indigenous and cultural beliefs”

"This is a key consideration of our RAP and an area we are committed to improving in, I look forward to working with REDI.E and drawing on their expertise.” Mitchell said.

REDI.E Chief Executive Officer Peter Gibbs said;

“REDIE is proud to partner with TFA to present this year’s NITFKO, it’s such a significant date on the calendar for our sporting community."

“The aim of the NITFKO 2022 is community, inclusive participation, enjoyment, and reconciliation. Sport is such a great vehicle for bringing our community together and this event will be a practical demonstration of that.

“We issue the invitation for Teams to bring that spirit to the event by filling up the roster with a minimum of 50% Indigenous players, what an amazing opportunity to play, build community and work towards reconciliation all on one weekend”

Registrations are now open across mixed opens, mixed under 16’s and mixed under 12’s divisions.
