Ballarat Touch Association:

Ballarat Touch Association’s Junior Development program is an introduction to Touch Football aimed at junior girls and boys aged between 10 and 18 (born 2002 to 2010). Our program develops young players through a series of training sessions that teach them beyond the basics of Touch, and we aim to create an inclusive environment that fosters both enjoyment of the game and improvement.

The junior development program runs on Monday nights from 5:30pm to 6:30pm at Russell Square, Stawell Street North Brown Hill.  We play on the lower fields overlooked by the clubhouse facility.

The planned start date is November 1st which will kickstart the juniors with progressive skill development, including specialized drills and game simulation. Continuing from there, training will run through to November 29th, however, both dates are subject to government restrictions.

After the Christmas break, the junior development program will resume on the 7th of February and will continue for another 5 weeks. During these sessions, the focus will shift away from the foundation skills of touch and towards using them in a team environment, testing players' knowledge and placing them in situations that require teamwork and cooperation.

Ballarat Touch Football also offers opportunities to participate in Mixed (Men and Women’s) where we have Juniors competing in a variety of adult teams on Wednesday nights. Representative level touch football is also available for Juniors who wish to compete in higher competitive levels.
