How to Get Involved in Playing

Thinking about playing Touch Football? Great! Everyone can play.

Here's how to get involved – whether you've got a team ready to play, or you just want to register yourself:

  • You can search for a place to play by typing your postcode (or the name of the club if you know it) into the 'finder' at the top of this page: touchfootball.com.au/register-your-team
  • The way Touch Football tends to work is that people put a team together themselves, either a Mixed team, a Women's team, a Men's team or a Juniors team (often based on age). Ten people is a good number, sometimes it's less than that for Juniors, but you can have up to 14 people in a team. (Note: You can check with your local club if they have specific guidelines around team numbers for adults or juniors.)
  • Once you've got a team of people, the 'Team Contact' registers that team into a competition via touchfootball.com.au/register-your-team and usually needs to pay the fee on behalf of the team. Individuals in that team then pay their portion to the team contact.
  • Once a team is registered, individuals need to register themselves to that team by searching for the team name in the finder at the top of this Register INTO Team page: touchfootball.com.au/register-into-team
  • Some competitions, especially Junior competitions, allow individuals to register. You can register your 8-year-old child, for instance, into an under-9s competition at a club near you. Search the touchfootball.com.au/register-into-team finder to do this.
  • If you’re an adult who wants to play but you can’t get a group of people together, contact a club near you to see if your local competition will take 'individual registrations'. If not, submit an Expression of Interest by contacting your local club or state association, and someone can try to find you an existing team to join.
  • Fees are determined by the local club and vary from team fees (mentioned above) to individual fees – contact your local club to find out their fees.
