Referee Information

Referees involved in the upcoming TFSA League Season will have access and support from TFSA Referee panel and TFSA Office to further progress their referee goals. 

Each game of the TFSA League season involved three referees as well as coaching support if available/requested and fellow referees running water for all allocated games. 

Referee Registration

all referees involved in the TFSA League season must be registered through MySideline before any of their referee allocations can be filled. Click here to register

Permit Referee Requirements

Each permit must supply a minimum of two (2) suitably qualified full time and six (6) suitably qualified part time referees (per permit) for the duration of the series or a combination of full time & part time referees that fulfils the required quota using the equation below by 5pm Wednesday 11th October 2023

One full time referee = three part time referees (1:3)

 

Minimum Qualifications

Referees must have completed the theory component of the Level 2 badge course as a minimum requirement prior to the commencement of the series.

Exemptions can be made for those working towards their Level 2 Badge, provided Referee Panel approval.

 

Referee Considerations

Referee nominations will be coordinated by the Referee Panel prior to each round subject to availability. It is the responsibility of each referee to make themselves available of their requirements.

Current SA Referee Panel Members cannot be considered as permit referees.

It is the responsibility of the permit to find a replacement referee(s) should any nominated referee withdraws from their commitment.

Permit Referees will be paid for the matches they officiate at the designated going rate

 

Referee Uniform

Permit referees are required to be in full referee uniform for allocated matches. This includes wearing the current Inferno referee shirt, shorts or skirt and socks which is displayed below.

Referees must also display their badge (if available) and come prepared with a whistle.

Referee Awards

At the end of season all referees are celebrated and acknowledged for their efforts and individual referees awards are announced for the following accomplishments.

  1. Referee of the Series 
    as voted by all referees involved in the season
  • Was the standout referee who made significant positive impact and contribution throughout the series
  • Is a person of good character, supportive of fellow referees, referee coaches and event staff, and assisted in the overall referee performance
  • Set a good standard of behaviour on and off the field

 

  1. Referee Coaches Award
    as voted by Referee Panel + coaches
  • Displayed: consistent sportsmanship and improvement, listened to coaching/feedback and was willing to learn, was enthusiastic and encouraged teammates, was respectful to players and support staff
  • Demonstrated: growth, positively contributed to building team spirit throughout the season on and off field 
  • Delivered: their personal best

 

  1. Referee Team Award
    as voted by Referee Panel + coaches
  • Is a person of good character
  • Went over and above to support fellow referees, referee coaches and event staff
  • Showed good behaviour on and off the field 

 

Referee Upgrades

TFSA League is a level 3 upgrade event. 

Referees going for a level 3 upgrade would receive coaching and assessment throughout the season and awarded any upgrades after the final.
