Touch Football Australia (TFA) is pleased to announce the 2026 Alliance State Merit Teams following the DoorDash National Youth Championships (NYC).
A total of 56 athletes have been recognised across the 16 Girls, 16 Boys, 18 Girls and 18 Boys divisions following their performances throughout four days of competition on the Coffs Coast.
The Alliance State Merit Teams provide an opportunity to recognise emerging athletes from the ACT, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia who continue to impress on the national stage.
Throughout the championships, TFA High-Performance coaches observed and assessed Alliance State athletes as part of the sport’s ongoing national pathway process, with selections recognising players who demonstrated strong performances across the tournament.
Beyond individual skill, selectors considered the athletes’ consistency, awareness, competitiveness and ability to perform under pressure, whilst also recognising those who positively represented their team and the sport throughout the event.
The Alliance State Merit Teams provide greater visibility and recognition for talented athletes from Alliance States as they progress through the Touch Football pathway. While selection does not equate to a place in an Australian national squad, it provides important recognition for athletes demonstrating promising potential within the High-Performance pathway.
Congratulations to all 56 athletes recognised following the 2026 DoorDash National Youth Championships.
