Touch Football Australia (TFA) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified and experienced coaches for Australian Emus Opens Assistant Coach and Youth Head Coach positions as part of the next phase of the national high-performance pathway.
These appointments provide an opportunity for experienced coaches to contribute to the continued success and development of the Australian Emus program across both Opens and Youth divisions.
About the Roles
Australian Emus Opens Assistant Coaches and Youth Head Coaches play a critical leadership role within the national high-performance system. Beyond campaign delivery, these positions contribute to athlete identification and development, pathway alignment, national event observation, collaboration with State and Territory programs, and mentoring future coaches and athletes.
Appointments will support preparation for the:
- 2027 Asia Pacific Youth Touch Cup campaign – planned for November 2027,
- 2027 Opens Trans-Tasman campaign – planned for November 2027,
- Future Australian Emus pathway activities and national events, and
- Potential progression into future international campaigns, including the 2028 Touch World Cup cycle where relevant.

Australian Emus Open Assistant Coach Positions

Australian Emus Youth Head Coach Positions
Question 1:
The Australian Emus Youth programs are a key component of the national high performance pathway. Describe how you would identify, develop and transition athletes through the Australian Emus pathway, ensuring they are prepared for future success within Open and Senior national programs.
Question 2:
Describe how you would build and lead a high-performance team environment that promotes athlete development, wellbeing, accountability and success, while reflecting the values, behaviours and standards of the Australian Emus program.
