Touch Football Australia (TFA) has established a new Digital Products Working Group to give Affiliates, state and territory bodies, and other stakeholders a direct voice in the future of the sport's participation-facing digital systems, and is now calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Affiliates wanting to join.
Why the Working Group exists
The Working Group will act as a standing forum where the people who use TFA's digital products every day, from local Affiliate administrators to state bodies, can shape how those products are built and improved. Its purpose is to give stakeholders:
- A forum to communicate community product needs
- Regular opportunities for consultation
- Meaningful influence on product development decision-making
- An enhanced user experience across all TFA national digital products
The Group's scope covers the core systems Affiliates rely on for day-to-day operations, including MySideline, the MySideline registration and learning platforms, the admin and manager portals, the competitions website, and Refbook.
Led by Andrew Lei, TFA's Digital Services Coordinator
The Working Group will be chaired by Andrew Lei, TFA's Digital Services Coordinator. Andrew has played a pivotal role in enhancing TFA's digital products for the community, and will bring that experience to guiding the Group's day-to-day operations, from setting the direction and pace of product development to keeping stakeholders informed on progress, testing opportunities, and system improvements as they roll out.
Who's on the Working Group
The Working Group brings together a broad cross-section of the game:
- Andrew Lei, Digital Services Coordinator (Chair)
- Up to two NSWTF representatives
- Up to two QTF representatives
- One Alliance States representative
- Up to five Affiliate representatives from across Australia
- NRL representatives, as required
- Subject matter experts, as required
Membership will be reviewed annually to keep the Group transparent and relevant to the community it serves.
Expressions of Interest now open: Affiliate Representative positions
Up to five Affiliate Representative positions are open to the broader Affiliate community via EOI, managed by Andrew. Final appointments will be made by the Chair in consultation with NSWTF and QTF.
EOIs close 9:00am Thursday 24 September.
To build continuity and retain institutional knowledge, terms will be staggered from the outset:
- At this first intake, two representatives will be appointed for an initial one-year term, and three for an initial two-year term
- From there, positions will be renewed annually via EOI
- All subsequent appointments will run for a two-year term, with the option to renew for one additional term
As an Affiliate Representative, you'll meet quarterly with the Working Group, represent your stakeholder group by escalating trends, development requests and innovation insights, and act as a two-way channel of communication between TFA and your local Touch Football community.
Submit your Expression of Interest here before 9am Thursday 24 September.
How the Group will operate
The Working Group will meet quarterly, with additional consultation sessions held as needed. Agendas will go out at least five business days ahead of each meeting, and minutes will be circulated within five business days afterward, giving members a clear and well-documented forum to raise issues and track progress. The Digital Products Working Group has been established as a permanent body, with its Terms of Reference reviewed annually.
If you want a direct say in how TFA's digital products evolve, becoming an Affiliate representative is the best way to do so, before EOIs close at 9am Thursday 24 September.
