Touch Football Australia (TFA) is proud to announce Jeremy Wallace as the recipient of the August Teacher of the Month Award through the Teacher Ambassador Program, recognising his contribution to school sport and the development of Touch Football pathways for young athletes.
A highly respected educator at Yanchep Secondary College in Western Australia, Jeremy has created opportunities for students to get involved in Touch Football at school and across the wider community.
Through his passion for the game and commitment to student development, Jeremy has helped strengthen links between school sport, local competitions, and representative pathways, giving students clear opportunities to continue their Touch Football journey beyond the classroom.
Jeremy said seeing students discover the sport and progress through different pathways remains a key motivator in his involvement. His own Touch Football journey has also continued to grow, with his recent selection in the Australian Men’s 30s squad further strengthening his connection to the sport.
"I am motivated by seeing students discover a passion for Touch Football and watching them progress through pathways both in and out of school. Being selected in the Australian Men's 30s squad has strengthened my commitment to giving back to the sport and helping the next generation reach their potential," Jeremy said.
Jeremy’s impact extends beyond participation numbers, with his work helping students build confidence, teamwork and a lifelong connection to Touch Football. An anonymous nominator said Jeremy’s passion and commitment had helped create more opportunities for young people to be involved in the game.
"Jeremy has played a huge role in developing Touch Football pathways for young people, both in schools and in the wider community. His passion, commitment, and ability to create opportunities have helped more students get involved in the sport and continue their journey beyond the classroom.
