The Touch Football calendar rolls on in August with a series of representative, school, and inclusion events taking place across Queensland. Each event provides a fantastic opportunity for participants and school students to get involved, connect, and develop their skills, supporting the growth of Touch Football across all levels and abilities. Registrations are also open for the Alice Springs Masters Games, celebrating sport in the Northern Territory. Here’s what’s on in August.
Queensland Special School Education Championships (QSEC)
6 August
The largest QSEC yet will be held in early August across three divisions for all abilities: social, recreational, and competitive. The event presents a wonderful opportunity for school students to learn communication and teamwork in an inclusive Touch Football environment.
The free event has a focus on participation and social interaction, with modified activities and equipment available to all so that every student can engage in their own way as much as possible.

Metro Cup
7 August (Every Friday)
Hosted by Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association (BMTA), the Metro Cup makes its comeback on the calendar on 7 August in a weekly competition across Premier, Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 in Men's and Women's and a Mixed Gender All Abilities competition.
The Metro Cup attracts the best players from across South East Queensland across 10 rounds, leading up to grand finals in November.

Queensland Regional Secondary All Schools
15 – 16 August
The Gold Coast Titans All Schools (GCTAS) returns in October and will again host up to 600 representative school teams across five days. In the lead-up to the event, several regional events will occur throughout Queensland for secondary schools, presenting the opportunity for participants to develop and benchmark their skills at a higher level of competition.

Alice Springs Masters Games
Registrations are now open, closing 11 September
The Alice Springs Masters Games, widely known as the Friendly Games, is Australia’s longest-running Masters Games, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
There are no qualifying standards to compete. Whether you are taking part to nail a PB, utilising the Alice Springs Masters Games as a milestone in your fitness journey or for the sheer joy of competing with your mates in the heart of Australia, the Games are open to all those with a love of sport.
The Games bring together like-minded sport enthusiasts from around the country, with opening and closing ceremonies headlined by national and international superstars, including Shannon Noll, Choirboys, Baby Animals, and Sneaky Sound System!
Touch Football will be featured as one of its sports, with registrations now open for those aged 25 and over to participate in mixed competition.
