Get ready for an exciting summer of touch, teamwork and fun for juniors!
Registrations are open for the Summer Junior Competition, giving young players the chance to stay active, build their skills and enjoy a positive team environment throughout the warmer months. The Summer Junior Competition is designed for junior players of all experience levels, from first-time participants through to returning teams. The season will focus on participation, development, fair play and creating a great experience for players, families, coaches and volunteers.
Competition details
- Season: Summer Junior Competition 2026-27
- Age groups: Yr 2’s & under, Yr 3/4, Yr 5/6, Yr 7/8, Yr 9/10, Yr 11/12.
- Yr 3/4 and below will play half field, 5-aside games with tiny touch rules seen here: Tiny Touch Rules
- Yr 5/6 and above will play full field and proper rules. See 8th Edition Rules here.
- Competition days: Wednesday (Yr9 – Yr12), Thursday (Yr2 & under – Yr8)
- Venue: Deakin Playing Fields, Deakin
- Start date: Wednesday 21st of October & Thursday 22nd of October (click day to see all round dates)
- Finals: Semis: 17th & 18th of Feb. GF’s: 24th & 25th of Feb, where applicable
Who can register?
Players can register into a team or, where available, as individuals looking to be placed into a team through TFACT. Team organisers are encouraged to confirm player numbers early so competition planning can be completed smoothly.
How to register
Families and team organisers should keep an eye out for further information down the track and complete their nomination as early as possible, as places may be limited. Registration information and fees are shown below.

- Search ‘Deakin Touch Juniors’ to find our Wed & Thurs junior competitions
- Select your desired division for your team. FYI, please make sure you select one of our SUMMER competitions. Titles should say SUMMER JUNIORS 2026/27 – [day], [time], [age/division].
- Enter your details, create an NRL account if required, then create your team!
- Team managers will then be provided with a link to send out to all players
- Mixed teams may be entered and will be placed into the boy’s competition
- No minimum number of players required for each team

Fees
Year 3/4 & below – Half Field
- $89 ‘Player pays’ registration (Competition fee)
- $30 ACT State Fee & $30 National Fee. One-off payments for the period July 2026 – June 2027.
- All players must be registered before playing. This is for insurance purposes and to align with our TFA policy.
Year 5/6 & above – Full Field
- $99 ‘Player pays’ registration (Competition fee)
- $30 ACT State Fee & $30 National Fee. One-off payments for the period July 2026 – June 2027.
