Touch Football Australia (TFA) has welcomed continued investment from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), following the organisation’s assessment under the Play Well Investment Framework.
As the national governing body for Touch Football in Australia, TFA is committed to uniting communities through safe, social and meaningful participation opportunities that support people of all ages and abilities.
Under the ASC's Play Well Strategy, TFA will receive increased funding of $715,000 for the period 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027, supporting the organisation's ongoing commitment to delivering quality, inclusive participation experiences across the country.
The funding increase reflects TFA's strong organisational performance under the Play Well Investment Framework, which assesses national sporting organisations across key areas including unique participation, participant diversity, quality of experience, governance practices, and stakeholder engagement. TFA achieved a Classification Level of 9 (out of 10), with a final adjusted score of 86.41%, placing it in the 83rd percentile relative to other organisations assessed under the framework.
TFA Chief Executive Officer, Marcus Ashcroft, said:
“Touch Football Australia is grateful for the continued support of the Australian Sports Commission, the Australian Government, and Minister for Sport, The Hon Anika Wells MP.
“The increased funding is a great recognition of our continued organisational improvement, and I’d like to acknowledge the hard work of all our staff in achieving this outcome. We will continue to work closely with the Australian Sports Commission to deliver positive and inclusive experiences for participants across the country.”
TFA remains committed to delivering its Play Well Implementation Plan and building on its priority areas to strengthen opportunities for all Australians to participate in Touch Football, ensuring its programs, governance, and participant experiences continue to align with the objectives of the ASC's Play Well Strategy.
