Touch Football Australia (TFA) has renewed its appointment process for the Athelite Australian Emus National Head Coach, Assistant Coach, and Manager roles, aligning with the updated high-performance pathway and leadership frameworks.
This follows the ratification of the National Selection Policy and National Coach and Manager Appointment Policy.
Key changes include:
- Position descriptions and responsibilities have been updated to reflect expanded roles in talent identification, athlete development, and pathway support, including involvement at national events, state programs, and supporting youth and senior programs.
- All current terms for National Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Managers will conclude as the new process begins.
- Emus National Head Coach positions will be filled through an open application process, with appointments to run through to the 2028 Touch World Cup.
- The appointment processes for Assistant Coach and Manager positions will be undertaken in accordance with the updated framework and will be communicated in due course.

All interested and qualified applicants for Head Coach roles are encouraged to apply. The application timeline is confirmed as follows:
- Notify program participants and key stakeholders: 9:00am, 13 May 2026
- Advertise vacancies and process: 11:00am, 13 May 2026
- Close of applications: 9:00am, Tuesday 23 June 2026
- Interviews and Assessments: Month of July (Pending availability of Directors and applicants)
- Appointments recommended to the Board: End of July 2026

- Outline your strategic vision for the Australian Emus Opens program leading into the 2028 World Cup, including the key priorities and actions you would implement to drive sustained international success.
- How would you build and maintain a high-performance environment that reflects the cultural standards, behaviours, and values of the Emus, while developing those around you?
