Touch Football Australia (TFA), in collaboration with NSW Touch Football (NSWTF) and Queensland Touch Football (QTF), is pleased to announce the launch of the first phase of a new, digitised Touch Almanac, delivered in partnership with InvestStream.
The project represents a major step forward in modernising the sport’s most comprehensive historical archive, originally developed by long-time Touch Football historian Cary Thompson. For decades, Thompson’s Touch Almanac has served as a vital community resource for player and tournament records, spanning more than forty years of Touch Football history across domestic and international competitions, including the Federation of International Touch (FIT) World Cup.
Through this partnership, Thompson’s Touch Almanac has been transformed into a scalable, centralised data platform, designed to serve future generations of Touch Football participants and supporters. Powered by InvestStream’s robust data infrastructure, the new system introduces a modern user interface enabling users to intuitively access information and explore the game’s history with greater accuracy and reliability than ever before.
This initial phase introduces international event data, including the FIT World Cup, Trans-Tasman, Asia, and European competitions. Future phases will expand coverage to national domestic events such as The Championships (formerly National Touch League) and the DoorDash National Youth Championships, further strengthening the Touch Almanac as the single source of truth for Touch Football data.
The transition to a digital-first, modernised platform ensures decades of Touch Football history are more accessible and engaging for the community, including the introduction of an intuitive AI search feature to more efficiently access statistics. Beyond preserving rich data legacy established by Cary Thompson, the platform lays the foundation for future enhancements, deeper insights, and more interactive ways for the community to connect with the game’s past, present, and future.
TFA Chief Executive Officer, Marcus Ashcroft, said:
“The new Touch Almanac is a significant milestone for our sport, bringing decades of history into a platform designed for today’s community.
“The collaboration between TFA, NSWTF, QTF, and InvestStream has been outstanding, and I’m excited for our participants to explore Touch Football’s rich history in a more connected and interactive way than ever before.”
NSWTF Chair of the Board, Anthony Dudeck, said:
“We’re proud to honour Cary Thompson’s incredible legacy while making Touch Football’s history more accessible and engaging for participants both in Australia and around the world.
“As the Almanac continues to evolve, its features and data integration will keep improving, ensuring it remains the go-to resource for all Touch Football participants and supporters.”
InvestStream Chief Executive Officer, Jason Hoang, said:
“As an avid Touch Football player, we are proud to play a role in preserving history and simultaneously creating infrastructure for continuous scalability.”
