Touch Football Northern Territory (TFNT) will launch a Term 1 Touch Football program, focusing on developing the long-term skills of junior players while enhancing their experience of the game.
The program will commence on January 31 with free 'come and try' sessions, with the program then operating for six weeks from February 21. The program aims to encourage children in the Darwin community to increase their physical literacy and Touch Football skills, while developing a pathway through to a junior Touch Football competition in future seasons.
TFNT will also run a school holiday program on 21 and 22 January in preparation for the program, whilst the addition of a Junior Fast 4s competition in Darwin will act as a pathway that children can work towards as the year progresses.

Age
For children aged 5 to 12 (based on the age that the participant will be in 2026).

Timings
- 8:30am to 9:30am for ages 5 to 8. Include skills, drills, and activities to have fun and promote physical literacy, with some Touch Football-specific benefits.
- 9:30am to 10:30am for ages 9 to 12. Includes skills, drills, and a short game segment to finish. Teams will be scrambled weekly, with a likelihood of a Fast 4s-style game.
Costs and Inclusions
- The program will cost $70 per child. 'Come and try' sessions on January 31, February 7, and February 14 are free.
- Costs will be used to cover field hire, remuneration of coaches, equipment, a bootbag, and a drink bottle for all participants.
- A BBQ is also planned to run each weekend for the program.
