TFA QTF

Dear Valued Members and Stakeholders,

Touch Football Australia (TFA) and Queensland Touch Football (QTF) are currently seeking applications for Licensed Apparel Suppliers for the 2026-2028 period. ‘Request for License’ applications are now open and will close Tuesday, 10th February, 2026.

The TFA & QTF Licensed Apparel Program provides companies a non-exclusive license to use TFA & QTF Intellectual Property (IP), logos and brand on club, affiliate, and regional team uniforms. Noting that TFA IP encompasses the Alliance States (ACT, WA, NT, WA, VIC, SA).

The TFA & QTF Apparel Licensing Program will commence from 1 March 2026 and run through to 31 July 2028 for a total of twenty-nine (29) months.

Under the licensing program, a maximum of thirteen (13) apparel suppliers may receive a non-exclusive license to use TFA & QTF IP on apparel for the term.

TFA & QTF have informed all existing apparel suppliers and known uniform providers of the new program and invited them to renew or apply for a license.

TFA & QTF encourage you to contact your supplier to apply. We would be happy to enter into discussions with your current provider/supplier. If you wish this to be the case, then please forward details to commercial@touchfootball.com.au within the application period.

The TFA and QTF logo will continue to remain compulsory on all uniforms at National and QLD events as per the revised Uniform Guidelines v5.1, which can be found HERE.

Applications are now open and will close at 5pm Tuesday, 10 February 2026. Please click or share the link below to the Application form. Approved licensees will be announced in late February 2026.

TFA & QTF Apparel Licensing Program – FAQs

Q: How long is a license term?

A: The license term will run from 1 March 2026 – 31 July 2028.

Q: How many licenses will be issued?

A: There will be up to 13 licenses issued, exclusive of the major apparel supplier for each organisation. We reserve the right to issue one additional state-only license in each state (QLD, ACT, VIC, TAS, SA, NT, WA). Please contact your relevant state body for further details.

Q: How does licensing affect me?

A: Only selected companies will have permission to use TFA & QTF IP on apparel. Clubs, Affiliates, and Regions will need to select one of the successful applicants to supply uniforms to meet the updated uniform guidelines. This now provides a streamlined process for supplying uniforms to:

  1. Affiliates within QTF & TFA Alliance States (ACT, VIC, TAS, SA, WA, NT); and
  2. QTF regions (BTF, SQBD, CQ, SWQ, NQ, SCFBDTA)

as they all sit under the one uniform guidelines and licensing agreement.

Q: If I currently hold an apparel license and am successful in renewing my license in the upcoming program, will the teams I supply need new uniforms?
A: That depends on the following factors:

  • If their current uniforms meet the updated uniform guidelines, they will not need to purchase new uniforms; otherwise
  • If their current uniforms do not meet the updated uniform guidelines, they will either need to request a dispensation from TFA and QTF or purchase new uniforms.

For further information, please see the below flowchart:

APL Decision Tree

Q: What happens if I currently hold a license but am not re-licensed in the upcoming program?
A: If your business currently holds a license but is unsuccessful in securing a new license under the new program, your right to use TFA and/or QTF IP is expired, and you will not be able to produce any new uniforms with this IP.

Q: What happens in the event of a breach?

A: All breaches will be taken seriously and be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. All entities will be required to submit uniform designs to the event organisers for approval as per the event's conditions of entry.

A Show Cause Notice may be issued to either the Licensed Apparel Suppliers or the entity for breach. Any breaches may result in disciplinary action up to and including financial penalties for the club, affiliate, or region.

Q: Will there be an opportunity to provide state representative uniforms (e.g. ACT Raiders, Vic Storm, etc.) for TFA’s alliance states?
A: No. New Balance, TFA’s Official Apparel Provider, holds exclusive rights to supply representative uniforms for the state teams. However, apparel licensees will have the right to sell uniforms to non-state representative teams and affiliates within these states.

Q: What events do the revised Uniform Guidelines and the Apparel Licensing Program apply to?
A: For QTF clubs, affiliates, and regions, it is compulsory to display both the Touch Football Australia (TFA) and Queensland Touch Football (QTF) logos on any new team uniforms purchased from 19 January 2026 in order to participate in the following events:

  • Queensland State Cup
  • Queensland Junior State Cup
  • DoorDash National Youth Championship
  • The Championships (NTL)
  • Any future National representative competition or event

For teams and affiliates located in TFA Alliance States (WA, TAS, SA, VIC, NT, ACT), it is compulsory to display both the Touch Football Australia (TFA) and relevant state logo on any new team uniforms purchased from 19 January 2026  in order to participate in the following events:

  • State Cup (or equivalent)
  • Junior State Cup (or equivalent)
  • DoorDash National Youth Championship
  • The Championships (NTL)
  • Any future National representative competition or event

Please refer to the updated Uniform Guidelines for detailed information on logo position, apparel specifications and other uniform requirements. Version 5.1 introduces key updates, including the combined uniform guidelines for TFA and QTF, revised national and state logo application and clearer minimum and maximum logo sizing for great consistency. These changes aim to deliver a more consistent, streamlined and adaptable uniform framework across the sport.

Q: Will I be able to sell merchandise at TFA and QTF events?
A: No. Merchandise sales at these events are the exclusive rights of TFA and QTF’s respective ‘Official Apparel Partners’.

Q: Does this include New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA)?

A: Not at this stage. NSWTA will continue to manage its own apparel licensing program, and this program does not include rights to NSWTA IP. However, the intention is for NSWTA to transition into the amalgamated national program when their current agreement expires in mid 2028.

Q: Where will the TFA and QTF logos be positioned on our uniforms?

A: Please refer to the above mentioned uniform guidelines.

Q: What criteria will TFA and QTF consider when selecting successful suppliers?

A: TFA and QTF will ensure the suppliers chosen represent a variety of price points, design options and order lead times, providing sufficient options for all teams, affiliates and regions' needs.
