Dear Valued Members and Stakeholders,

Touch Football Australia (TFA) and Queensland Touch Football (QTF) are pleased to announce the amalgamation of their Licensed Apparel Programs for the 2026-2028 period.

Historically, the TFA, QTF, and New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA) Licensed Apparel Programs have operated independently. From 1 March 2026, TFA and QTF will begin operating under an amalgamated Apparel Licensing Program. The intention is for NSWTA to transition into the combined program upon the expiry of their current agreement in 2028. This unified approach is designed to deliver a more consistent and streamlined apparel licensing framework, enabling greater efficiency, improved quality control, and stronger brand consistency across touch football uniforms and events.

The TFA and QTF Licensed Apparel Program provides successful applicants with a non-exclusive license to use TFA and QTF intellectual property, logos, and brands on club, affiliate, and regional team uniforms across their respective states and territories. Under this licensing program, a maximum of fifteen (15) apparel suppliers will be granted a non-exclusive license to use TFA and QTF intellectual property for the designated term.

TFA and QTF have contacted all existing licensed apparel suppliers and known uniform providers to advise them of this update and invite them to renew or apply for a license under the new combined program. We also encourage clubs, affiliates, and regions to share the application details with their current apparel suppliers.

For QTF clubs, affiliates, and regions, it is compulsory to display both the TFA and QTF logos on any new team uniforms purchased from 21 November 2025 in order to participate in the following events:

  • Queensland State Cup
  • Queensland Junior State Cup
  • DoorDash National Youth Championships
  • The Championships (NTL)
  • Any future National representative competition or event

For teams and affiliates located in TFA Alliance States (WA, TAS, SA, VIC, NT, ACT), it is compulsory to display both the TFA and relevant state logo on any new team uniforms purchased from 21 November 2025 in order to participate in the following events:

  • State Cup (or equivalent)
  • Junior State Cup (or equivalent)
  • DoorDash National Youth Championships
  • The Championships (NTL)
  • Any future National representative competition or event

For NSWTA clubs, affiliates, and regions, it is compulsory to display both the TFA and NSWTA logos on any new team uniforms purchased from 21 November 2025 in order to participate in the following events:

  • DoorDash National Youth Championships
  • The Championships (NTL)
  • Any future National representative competition or event

Please refer to the updated Uniform Guidelines below for detailed information on logo position, apparel specifications, and other uniform requirements. Version 5.0 introduces key updates, including the combined uniform guidelines for TFA, QTF, and NSWTA, revised national and state logo application, and clearer minimum and maximum logo sizing for great consistency. Additionally, the updates provide more flexibility for sponsor branding and placement, while incorporating guidance on sun safety, headwear, compression garments, jewellery, and fingernails. These changes aim to deliver a more consistent, streamlined, and adaptable uniform framework across the sport.

All new uniforms ordered from Friday, 21 November 2025 must comply with the updated uniform guidelines. All orders from 1 March 2026 must also comply with the updated uniform guidelines and be provided by an approved provider in the 2026-28 licensing program.

During this transition, QTF will work with clubs, affiliates, and regions across Queensland, while TFA will support their Alliance States to ensure alignment with the new standards. Please reference the Uniform Compliance Flowchart to guide you through this process.

TFA & QTF Apparel Licensing Program – FAQs – Members & Stakeholders

Q: What is new with the Apparel Licensing Program?

A: Touch Football Australia (TFA) and Queensland Touch Football (QTF) are aligning their individual Apparel Licensing Programs to create a more streamlined and consistent national approach for teams, affiliates, regions and apparel suppliers. This alignment reduces financial burden on participants while improving efficiency and strengthening brand consistency across touch football uniforms and events.

While NSWTA will continue operating its own program for now, the intention is for NSWTA to transition into the amalgamated program when their current agreement expires in 2028.

Q: How does licensing affect me?

A: Only selected suppliers will have permission to use the TFA and QTF IP. Clubs, affiliates, and regions will need to choose one of these providers to supply uniforms to meet the updated uniform guidelines.

Q: How long is a license term?

A: The license term will run from 1 March 2026 to 31 July 2028.

Q: Do I need to buy new uniforms?

A: That will depend on a range of factors – please see the below flowchart illustrating the various scenarios.

Q: If my apparel provider currently holds a license but does not receive a new license in the upcoming program, will I need new uniforms?

A: If you wish to, or are required to feature TFA or QTF IP on your uniforms, you will need to source them from an approved supplier from 1 March 2026.

Q: If my apparel provider currently holds a license and is successful in renewing their license in the upcoming program, will I need new uniforms?

A: Great, you can continue to use your supplier and TFA and QTF IP. Some designs may need to be altered slightly to align with the new TFA and/or QTF Uniform guidelines.

Q: How many suppliers can I order from?

A: There will be fifteen (15) licenses issued, with an additional license issued in each state (QLD, ACT, VIC, TAS, SA, NT, WA) to a small apparel provider who can offer quick turnaround and convenience to smaller teams.

Q: What criteria will TFA and QTF consider when selecting successful suppliers?

A: TFA and QTF will ensure the suppliers chosen represent a variety of price points, design options, and order lead times, providing sufficient options for all teams, affiliates, and regions' needs.

Q: How will we know what suppliers we can use?

A: A list of approved suppliers will be announced by TFA and QTF in February 2026.

Q: Does this include New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA)?

A: Not at this stage. NSWTA will continue to operate its own apparel licensing program. However, the intention is for NSWTA to transition into the amalgamated national program when its current agreement concludes in 2028.

NSWTA has been incorporated into the revised Uniform Rules and Guidelines document. For NSWTA clubs, affiliates, and regions attending the following national events, both the TFA and NSWTA logos must be displayed as outlined in the guidelines:

  • DoorDash National Youth Championships
  • The Championships (NTL)
  • Any future national representative competition or event

Q: Where will the TFA and QTF logos be positioned on our uniforms?

A: Please refer to the following uniform guidelines, as well as the below screenshot excerpt.

Q: What happens in the event of a breach?

A: All breaches will be taken seriously and reviewed on a case-by-case basis. All entities will be required to submit uniform designs to the event organisers for approval as per the event's conditions of entry.

Any breaches may result in disciplinary action up to and including financial penalties for the club, affiliate, or region.

Q: Further Questions?
