The WA uniform for the teams competing at The Championships in Coffs Harbour next week has been revealed last night!
In fact, uniforms aren’t just something to wear—they represent our team, our culture, and our connection to Derbyl Yerrigan (the Swan River). Every part of the design has meaning, telling a story about who we are and what we bring to the field.
This incredible design was created by Kaisha Jetta, whose creativity connects the past, present and future and brings stories to life through art. Below, you’ll see how each element in the design reflects culture, teamwork and the spirit of competition—rooted in the land, shaped by history and carried forward by those who wear it.
Front Design
The river flows across the front, symbolizing the land that connects us all. Kangaroo tracks run alongside it, representing the Yongka that once lived there—strong, fast, and always moving forward, just like our teams.
The U-shapes are our players, sitting together, ready for the challenge ahead. At the center, the Boomerang reminds us that stepping onto the field is more than just playing—it’s about competing, fighting, and leaving everything out there to win. Surrounding it all, dots represent the song lines and stories, values and traditions—everything players bring as individuals to make the team stronger.
Back Design
The river appears again on the back, showing that connection never fades. At the top is the symbol for Boys, and at the bottom, the symbol for Girls.
The back is kept simple because the player number will go over it, making sure it stands out while keeping the meaning of the design strong.
Good luck to all our players heading The Championships 2025—wear this design with pride, and let it remind you of the strength, unity and stories you carry with you onto the field!
