Joondalup Jets Hero

Touch Football Australia (TFA) is pleased to announce Joondalup Jets Touch Football Association as the 2024 recipient of the Community Club of the Year Award presented by major partner, Red Rooster.

The Community Club of the Year award continues to recognise the incredible contributions Touch Football affiliates make to their local communities since its launch in 2023. The initiative shines a spotlight on the efforts of affiliates nationwide who grow the sport and enhance the experience of its participants.

The award was presented to Joondalup Jets President, Lachlan Atkinson – with the national winner receiving a prize pack valued at over $6,000 – including $5,000 in cash and $1,000 worth of equipment to put towards furthering their initiatives.

To be the recipient of the Red Rooster Community Club of the Year Award is amazing. The funding will make a huge difference to our members and allow us to continue to grow and implement new initiatives,” Atkinson said.

From over 300 affiliates around the country, eight State winners were selected who became national finalists. Joondalup Jets were selected as the national recipient for their contributions to a thriving sporting community through several development programs.

The Jets have implemented a range of initiatives including a Women’s Development Program, Junior Jets Program, Jets Pathway and Mentor Program to guide grassroots players, and the development of an All Abilities Junior Jets Program.

“Community is an important part of Red Rooster’s business as a born and bred Australian brand. We like to give back to the community and play our role in supporting them where we can,” Director of Marketing at Red Rooster, Ashley Hughes, said.
