As our 2024 DoorDash National Youth Championships have now returned home we look back on the week that was. From a warm start on the first day to having the competition washed out by Thursday, our teams still got to compete in some very competitive matches.

Our 16 Girls A managed to get 2 wins during the round games which set them up for a Quarter Final match against the NQ Cyclones. Unfortunately going down in an absolutely rain-soaked contest.

The 16 Girls B continued to grow in confidence throughout their matches and brought home a win against South Australia 2-0. Unfortunately, the rain didn’t allow them to see how far they could go into the playoff games.

Both our 16 Boys and 18 Girls teams will look back at this year’s tournament and ask, “What if?” The weather wouldn’t give us the playoff games we were looking for to finish the tournament on with a win.

Please join us in congratulating our award winners for each team listed below.

Thank you to all the parents who accompanied their children across to this year’s tournament. We hope despite the weather you will be looking forward to putting your children into our program again.

TFWA would like to thank all our coaches, managers, and medical staff for the work they did in the lead-up to and during the tournament. Without our staff, the teams would have no one to lead and guide them to becoming the athletes they are.

We look forward to next year and hopefully some dryer weather!
