Women’s Competition

The women’s division delivered an exhilarating season, culminating in some spectacular finals action.

Season Best and Fairest: Fern Hancock (Untouchables)

Season Top Try Scorer: Megan Johnson (TERF Womens)

In the semi-finals, the Inferno Magpies Women dominated the Untouchables with a 9-2 victory, securing their spot in the Grand Final. Meanwhile, TERF Women and the Scorpions engaged in a nail-biting 11-minute drop-off, with the Scorpions emerging victorious 6-5.

The Grand Final was a fantastic match, with the Inferno Magpies Women triumphing over the Scorpions. Despite a strong defense from the Scorpions, the Inferno Magpies’ speed and skill proved too much. Kaitlin Berry from the Scorpions was a standout, earning the Best on Ground award.

Men’s Open Competition

The men’s open competition was equally intense, showcasing fierce rivalries and outstanding performances.

Season Best and Fairest: Jed Newman (Midgies)

Season Top Try Scorer: Callum Backwell (Stingrays Development)

Inferno advanced straight to the finals, while the Midgies put up a fierce fight against TERF Kings, who won 8-4.

Grand Final: TERF Kings vs Inferno Magpies Men

Referees: Clayton Lane, Brendon Donnelley, Darcy Lawrence

In a dramatic grand final, the TERF Kings faced off against the Inferno Magpies with only six players on the field. Despite having no subs, the Kings displayed remarkable resilience and teamwork. The Inferno Magpies capitalized on their numerical advantage, showcasing their speed and agility to emerge victorious. Robert Bloor from the Inferno Magpies was voted Best on Ground.

Mixed Divisions

Mixed Division 1 and Division 2 were split for a thrilling finals campaign. In Division 1, Semi's Inferno Magpies MX Blue edged out TERF 7-6, 

Grand Final: Inferno Magpies Pink vs Inferno Magpies Blue

Referees: Clayton Lane, Marcos Steinhardt, Wayne Lo

The Division 1 Grand Final was a well contested rivalry with Inferno Pink just too good for Inferno Blue, Thomas Edgword (Inferno Pink) proved his worth on the field winning the Best on Ground

Division 1 Season Best & Fairest: Caylee Wallis

Division 2 Grand Final: Boomers vs Trytons

Referees: Darren Galbraith, Lachlan Campbell and Clayton Lane

The Grand Final saw Boomers overpower Mad Dogs with a 9-4 victory. Josh Robinson (Boomers) took away the Best on Ground award for the Grand Final impressing the crowd with his style and top level plays.

Division 3

Division 3 featured some fiery games and high-quality plays.

Season Best and Fairest: Kaleb Swift

Season Top Try Scorer: Callum Backwell (Reds)

Grand Final: Been Flickin vs Beaver Brewery

Referees: Tom Edgword, Darren Galbraith and Nathan McDonald

Been Flickin put their bodies on the line, with a special mention to Amanda Howie’s amazing save, forcing the game into a drop-off with the scores tied at 5 all. Been Flickin snuck through to take the win just before the 2-minute drop-off mark. Kelly Ewin was awarded Best on Ground.

 

Division 4

In Division 4, Lookout triumphed over Raiders 9-5, and Penguins proved too strong for Jog On, winning 9-5.

Grand Final: Penguins vs Lookout

Referees: Anthony Jeans, Nathan McDonald and Marcos Steinhardt

With reputation on the line Penguins had a lot to prove in the Division 4 Grand Finals. Nathan Everett from Lookout took out the player of the finals, showing some great leadership and skill, narrowly missing the win.
