WC Day 4

An individual record of seventeen tries scored in one game headlines Day Four of the World Cup as the Athelite Australian Emus continue their campaign ahead of the first elimination and playoff matches.

Shaun Francis crossed the line seventeen times to set a new individual record in a single game in a 24-0 win against Oman in the Men’s Open. In the Mixed Open, Olivia Goodsell continued her try-scoring form by touching down nine times against Italy.

The Trans-Tasman clash in the Men’s 35s was a heated affair with both teams putting on a show – with Taki Luke coming away with five tries in an Australian win.

In the Men’s 50s, recent Hall of Fame inductee and captain Gavin Shuker brought up the century with 100 World Cup tries – achieving this milestone in his seventh World Cup.

Current pool standings are listed below.
