Emus World Cup Results: Day 3 (July 17)
The Women’s Open side led the way for the Athelite Australian Emus on Day Three with the biggest win for Australia so far this tournament.
In a 25-0 win over Lebanon, the Women’s Open side had thirteen different try-scorers mark their name on the scoresheet to maintain the top spot of their pool on points differential. The Mixed Open were not to be outdone, with Olivia Goodsell scoring six tries against China.
Across his two games, Trevor Moran scored ten tries in the Men’s 30s division in a strong display. The Senior Mixed side scored thirteen tries between Lucena Gill and Carly Walsh in a victory against Hong Kong China – and faced a determined German outfit in a tough win.
Ron Hanson Medallist Troy Morgan also chalked up more tries to his name in the Men’s 50s pool matches to surpass fifty tries for Australia. The milestones continue with Australian referee Nicole Alexander achieving her 50th international cap in a Mixed Open game between Belgium and France.
