Victoria recently had the honour of hosting a comprehensive three-day coaching program led by renowned Touch Football coach, Tony Trad, over the King’s Birthday long weekend. The program comprised a series of workshops, including a foundation coach workshop, talent coach workshop, coach deliverer accreditation, and coach mentoring sessions.
This immersive coaching experience not only provided valuable education but also fostered collaboration among coaches from across Victoria, including many of our esteemed coaches from the DoorDash National Youth Championships (NYC) and The Championships, presented by Inferno, for 2024. Coaches shared innovative drills and techniques, challenged traditional coaching methods, and expanded their coaching style under Tony’s guidance.
Participants honed their communication and feedback skills while learning to adapt coaching strategies for diverse age groups and skill levels. A notable outcome of the program was the accreditation of eight coaches at the foundation level and an additional thirteen coaches at the talent level.
Highlighting the program's impact, Elies El Chaar and Michael Lovett, two of Victoria's top coaches, achieved accreditation to deliver both foundation and talent level courses. This milestone ensures ongoing coaching development and education in Victoria for years to come.
With anticipation, we await the debut of our newly accredited state coaches at the upcoming NYC in September. Furthermore, we are committed to nurturing coaching talent across Victoria through future foundation and talent courses led by Elies and Michael, facilitating continuous growth and excellence in Touch Football coaching.
