2024 Tasmania Junior Program and Team Selection Information

Touch Football Tasmania today announces our junior program for the remainder of 2024 and the selection information for our junior representative teams.

Our intention is to send eight teams to the 2024 DoorDash National Youth Championships, to be held at the C.Ex International Stadium precinct at Coffs Harbour, NSW, 25-28 September. Due to a change in TFA policy, our teams will not be permitted to travel and stay together as in previous years. This reduces the player levy significantly, but we understand it will also have an effect on some families' availability.

We expect that all selected players will travel to Coffs Harbour on Monday 23 Sep, and will be released from the tour group no earlier than 3pm on Saturday 28 Sep; we recommend that return/onward travel arrangements be made for Sunday 29 Sep.

The player levy will be $550 for all players; this is not negotiable and must be paid in full by 28 June by all participants. Uniform orders will be organised separately, and paid for at the time of ordering. Information on how to pay levies and order uniforms will be communicated to teams separately.

Each team selection process will be organised by the team coaching groups, overseen by Touch Football Tasmania. Coaches, assistants and managers have been announced separately, and have been already or will soon be in contact with eligible players. Most teams are holding selection trials over the coming weeks, details below where we have them. All teams will be selected by 26 May. Girls Under 18: Trials Sunday 28 April at Royal Park rugby ground Launceston, 10am-1pm and Sunday 5 May at Wentworth Park Hobart, 10am-1pm. Contact Yam, Dilgs or Des if you haven't yet let us know of your interest.

Girls Under 16: Trials Saturday 18 May at AMC Rugby Ground, University of Tasmania in Launceston, 10am-12pm and Sunday 19 May at Wentworth Park Hobart, 10am-12pm. Contact Sam, Katie or Des to let us know your availability.

Boys Under 14: Trials Friday 19 April at Wentworth Park Hobart, 4.15pm-6pm and Friday 26 April at Royal Park rugby ground, Launceston, 4.15pm-6pm. Please let Brayden, Ryan or Des know your availability by Wednesday noon.

Girls Under 14: TBA

Boys Under 12: Trials Saturday 13 April at Wentworth Park Hobart, and Saturday 20 April at AMC Rugby Ground, University of Tasmania Launceston (TBC). Please contact Sam or Des by Friday noon to advise your availability.
