TFA Volunteer Of The Year Award 5 Web Hero

Demons Touch Association’s Bill Sheeky has been announced as the Bristol Paint Touch Football Australia (TFA) Volunteer of the Year award for 2023, edging out eleven other nominees.

Bill was recognised for his 28 years of involvement with the Demons Touch Football Association, a club in Adelaide’s northeastern suburbs which he founded, and continues to be heavily involved in today as a player, coach and President. Bill’s passion and commitment has ensured Touch Football has continued to grow in an Aussie Rules dominated state. Bill’s love for both his community and the sport stood out to the judging panel, who had the challenging task of selecting the overall winner from eleven exceptional Volunteers of the Month.

I am extremely humbled to have received the award. Like all volunteers, I don’t do it for the accolades, I do it for the families and local community. I would like to acknowledge the other nominees from across Australia and in particular my fellow volunteers at Demons Touch for their dedication and tireless commitment, as our growth and success as a Club would not be possible without them. It is a great sport and I’m glad to be able to give back in some small way.” Sheeky said.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to Bristol for the fantastic prize – I look forward to giving my place a new coat of paint!”
