Touch Football Australia (TFA) joined other sporting organisations and media outlets at North Sydney Oval today (Friday 26th May) to formally support the Voice to Parliament.
TFA CEO, Jamie O’Connor said, “As one of the largest participation sports and with some of the highest indigenous participation rates (8%) in the country, Touch Football is uniquely placed to play an important and significant role in Australia’s reconciliation journey.”
“Since their establishment, our Reconciliation Advisory Panel have been instrumental in launching our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and guiding us through key milestones as we live our commitment to closing the gap by respecting and recognising First Nation voices and traditions.”
TFA’s vision, as defined in the TFA Strategic Plan (2021-24), is to be the most inclusive team sport providing tailored and mainstream opportunities for Indigenous Australian’s.
Through the guidance of our Reconciliation Advisory Group, TFA proudly supports the recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the Australian Constitution through a Voice to Parliament to give First Nations people a voice and a guaranteed say in the policies and laws that directly impact them.

TFA is privileged to have a long history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation in our sport.
First Nation communities have deep bonds with Touch Football and are an integral part of our community from grassroots to the Indigenous stars who represent our Australian Emus.
TFA is committed to achieving reconciliation through the TFA Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and RAP Panel which brings together leading Indigenous voices from within the sport to represent, advise and lead on behalf of Indigenous people across the game.
Whilst we encourage everyone to seek the information they need to form their own views, TFA proudly supports the Indigenous Voice to parliament so that we can move forward together.
