Touch Football WA (TFWA) acknowledges our referees for their hard work and contribution in 2021.
TFWA congratulates the following referees on their outstanding achievements in 2021:

2021 FEMALE REFEREE OF THE YEAR
Nicole West
WA has a strong group of female referees who continue to perform exceptionally at both local, state, national and international level. With her first nationals open final, state of origin and state championship, 2021 saw this referee perform at her very best.
2021 SENIOR MALE REFEREE OF THE YEAR
Rob McKay
This referee shows that there are very few limits to what you can achieve. A regular in finals at state level and performing strongly at national and international level, he is not only a referee but mentor and leader to those around him.
2021 SENIOR FEMALE REFEREE OF THE YEAR
Judy Mancini
Continuing a long period of success, this referee continues to perform and be involved at all levels of touch football. Never complaining and always with a smile, she controls a game and ensures the success of those around her as well.
2021 REGIONAL REFEREE OF THE YEAR
David Wann
WA's regionally based referees have more challenges than most, travelling thousands of km's to be involved in state level events and developing themselves often within smaller affiliates and competitions. Despite the challenges this referee has performed exceptionally at all times.

The key to a strong and bright future is in our developing referees and WA has a broad number of referees who work hard, listen and contribute at all levels of touch football. This referee has had an excellent year and travels countless km's to be involved while holding key roles at their affiliate.
2021 YOUTH REFEREE OF THE YEAR

WA is blessed with a number of high performing younger referees and the winner is no exception. Always working hard, listening to advice and doing their absolute best. Finals appearances and open games have seen this referee grow and develop and we look forward to seeing even more in to the future.
2021 MALE REFEREE OF THE YEAR

WA's leading referees have continued to perform at high levels and this person has managed to sustain this performance for a number of years. Awarded finals at both Super Series and State Championships and attending national events when COVID allowed, this referee has had a strong year while supporting those around him.
2021 REFEREE COACH OF THE YEAR
Alison Watters
Our coaches play an important part in the development of our referee group spending countless hours watching, listening, learning and mentoring referees of all levels. This coach has travelled across the state assisting at affiliate and representative levels and continuing to improve the standard of coaches and referees in WA.

Refereeing at affiliate level is supported by dedicated and hard working individuals who regularly go above and beyond to organise, coach, mentor and support not only referees but the affiliate more broadly.

To be recognised by your peers is one of the greatest achievements and this years award winner has gone from strength to strength. Recent achievements include a badge upgrade, first finals appearance, open games and becoming a key part of the referee team. Off field they provide mentoring and coaching, presenting courses, feedback to other referees and advocating where needed to ensure they get the best from themselves and those around them.
