Tasmania Thunder 2022 Junior Trials

Touch Football Tasmania today announces that selection trials for junior teams competing in the 2022 DoorDash National Youth Championships will be held 23-24 April.

With ongoing uncertainty around the likelihood of alternate events, TFT are committing to competing at NYC 28 Sep - 1 Oct. Teams will travel to the Sunshine Coast on Monday 26 Sep, returning Sunday 2 Oct.

Trials for teams in the Under 18, Under 16, Under 14 and Under 12 age groups in both Boys' and Girls' divisions will be held in two stages: Saturday 23 April at the Australian Maritime College Rugby Field, at the University of Tasmania Newnham Campus, from 10am to 12pm; and Sunday 24 April at Wentworth Park Howrah, from 10am to 12pm. Participants may attend either trial, and do not have to attend both.

Players wanting to attend are required to register into the team "Tasmania Thunder Junior Representative 2022", by going to touchfootball.com.au, click "Register", click "Player", then search "Tasmania Thunder" to find the correct team. There is no cost to register for trials.

Players unable to attend the trials but wanting to be considered need to register as normal, then contact des.fogarty@touchfootball.com.au with the reason for non-attendance.

Player eligibility is based on the following birthdates:

Under 12 - 1/1/10-31/12/11

Under 14 - 1/1/08-31/12/09

Under 16 - 1/1/06-31/12/07

Under 18 - 1/1/04-31/12/05

Players wanting to trial for teams outside their age group must get approval from TFT prior to trials. This will not automatically be granted, and will be considered based on player needs, and the needs of teams and the TFT program.
