Touch Football in Geelong is continuing to expand with Geelong Touch Association again running their entry level program in early 2022. Designed for those aged 6 to 18, the Friday night program will recommence on January 28th at King Lloyd Reserve in Newtown after another successful campaign with over 55 juniors participating. This is a part of a wide range of offerings including competitive A grade and B grade mixed competitions on Mondays, along with a social family grade competition on Wednesday nights.
Geelong Touch have been lucky to have a very experienced team leading the program including lead coach Daniel McDowell who has filled roles as the National Touch Director of coaching for Jersey and the representative coach for Jersey at the World Cups in 2007 and 2010, amongst many other elite coaching and player roles over the past 20 years.
The other coaches that will be assisting the program will be Ali Davys & Tony Barlow who have 20 years of Touch Football and Rugby League experience along with Brodie Haugh who will be able to draw from his experience representing Victoria over the past few years.
The program will cater towards boys and girls, beginners and the more experienced. The program is completely FREE thanks to the support from VicHealth, Leisure Networks and Youth in Touch.
