At a recent meeting of the TFA Board of Directors it was resolved to alter the structure of the current State and Territory Advisory Committees (STACs) with immediate effect. The Terms of Reference governing these Committees has subsequently been updated to support these changes; a copy of can be found here.

The updated Terms of Reference sees a number of alterations made; most notably is the STAC membership which has been reduced from eight members to five members to be made up of the following:

  • Three members elected by the State Council;
  • A TFA Director appointed by the TFA Board;
  • The TFA CEO or their nominee.

In order to maintain best practice governance, the Terms of Reference now specifies that not more than three people of the same gender may be on the STAC, and all previous term limits have also been reset.

To enable these changes to take effect, each State will be required to hold an election in accordance with the TFA Constitution to elect three members. Of the three elected members, two will be elected for a period of three years and one will be elected for a period of two years to ensure appropriate rotation takes place in future years.

State Managers with support from the National Alliance Manager will oversee this process with nominations scheduled to open on Tuesday 22nd June and closing 5:00pm (AEST) on Monday 12th July.

The nomination form can be viewed here.
