Touch Football Australia (TFA) was thrilled to host the first large Touch Football event since COVID-19, the 2020 National Youth Championship (NYC). Despite it being a different-looking event this year, all involved were pleased to see representative Touch back and had an excellent experience.

The South Queensland Sharks showed their teeth, taking out five of the eight divisions, including the 18s Girls title, to be crowned 2020 Champion Entity. The 18s Boys division, however, was a battle between North and Central Queensland, with the NQ Cyclones taking the win.

The CQ Bulls put on impressive displays throughout the tournament, making it to the Grand Final in six divisions but only managing a win in one, the 12s Girls.

Both the Boys and Girls 16s divisions were taken by the Sharks, with a thrilling drop-off in the Boys, in contrast to a comfortable 11-7 win in the Girls.

The Sharks were also victorious in the 14s Boys, but the Brisbane Cobras managed a grand final win in the 14s Girls.

There was plenty of young talent on show in the 12s divisions, despite a rocky year in sport, spelling good things for the future of rep Touch.
