Touch Football ACT are proud to announce a new partnership with Diabetes NSW & ACT in introducing Capital Chicks CANberra to the ACT community!
Capital Chicks CANberra is a health initiative empowering woman in Canberra and the ACT to make healthy living easier and to reduce the incidence of gestational diabetes, type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases that can be linked to lifestyle.
Capital Chicks CANberra spokesperson, Rebecca McPhee, Project Lead, Healthy Women ACT, Diabetes NSW & ACT, states that “the initiative is centred on an online community that is designed to give women access to evidence-based tools, tips and resources specific to their needs”.
Touch Football ACT are running a free program named ‘FitChicks’ which is aimed at providing physical activity for mums and mums to be. Kids are welcome and will be entertained with games by University of Canberra students. The sessions are based around some team sport principles, are designed to be fun, simple and ease you back into physical activity for better overall health outcomes!
Start date: Tuesday 27th October
Runs for: 6 weeks
Session time: 10:00-10:45am, with coffee afterwards
Location: 6 Makin Place, Deakin
Touch Football ACT are also holding a Come and Try day on the 13th of October here at the Touch Football ACT office, 6 Makin Place Deakin.
