

Touch Football Australia (TFA) is pleased to announce the referees charged with officiating the TFA All Stars and TFA Indigenous All Stars games, as part in the 2016 Harvey Norman All Stars event.
Townsville-based referee Denise Weier, as well as Brisbane locals Luke McKenzie and Matt Lavery will take the field at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday, 13 February 2016, tasked with refereeing some of the country’s most talented Touch Footballers.
This is the second year Touch Football with feature as part of the pre-game showcase prior to the NRL All Stars game, as well as the second year for Weier, one of Australia’s leading female referees.
“I was very honoured last year to have been selected for the inaugural event and am even more so to be selected once again. It is an awesome feeling,†Weier said.
“It was amazing to be granted the privilege of refereeing some of country's most skilled players. The game itself lifted every minute right through to the end.
“I absolutely loved every minute of last year. The greatest enjoyment I had was the clinic with the kids. Everyone involved was smiling the whole time.â€
A Super Clinic will be held as part of the teams and referees’ preparations for the All Stars, to be held at Brisbane Metropolitan Touch Association on Thursday, 11 February. This is a completely free event, from 3:00 – 4:00pm for kids between the ages of six and 12 years old.
