The New South Wales Touch Association (NSWTA) and the National Rugby League (NRL) will deliver the inaugural 'NRL In Harmony Touch Carnival' on Sunday, 3 November at Doyle Ground, Parramatta.

The event aims to bring a variety of individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds together to engage in the sport of Touch Football in a fun and relaxed environment.

Players from African, Afghani, Egyptian, Indian and Sri Lankan heritage will take to the field to share their love of all-year-round footy at the event, with the gala day featuring teams from these communities in both Under 15’s Boys and Under 15’s Girls divisions.

Players will be joined by NRL Multicultural Officer Hazem El Masri, NSWTA Junior Coach of the Year and 2013 Australian 18’s Boys assistant coach, Keith Rozairo, Australian 20’s Boys representative, Madalitso Masache and New South Wales Combined High Schools’ representative, Kai Simbolin.

Touch Football Australia Participation Manager, Adam Raptis said that he is looking forward to the inaugural event.

“The NRL In Harmony Touch Day provides us with a wonderful opportunity to display the cultural diversity that lives within the sport of Touch Football. It is fantastic to have coaches and players such as Keith and Madalitso, who have represented and achieved at the highest levels of the sport, supporting the grassroots development of the game,” Raptis said.

“We are also very honoured to have NRL Multicultural Officer, Hazem El Masri in attendance, a person who embodies sporting professionalism and success. We thank the NRL for their support; we believe this day will be a huge success and we look forward to seeing it grow into the future.”
