Touch Football Australia (TFA) is pleased to publicly release its Junior Development Framework.

The purpose of the framework is to provide a national structure to align the junior programs in each of the states and to bring the playing level of juniors across Australia, up to an equal standard.  The framework will also aim to assist affiliated Touch Football associations, volunteers and schools in the development of junior affiliates, competitions, pathways, programs and related activities.

Elements of the framework have been reproduced from the Australian Touch Association (ATA) Junior Policy. It is important to note that the TFA National Junior Development Framework will replace the ATA Junior Policy.

Sections of this document have also been reproduced from the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) Junior Sport Matters: Briefing Papers for Australian Junior Sport. The framework has adopted the ASC Play by the Rules program. The Play by the Rules website provides news, resources and free online training to assist sport and recreation clubs and administrators, officials, coaches, players and spectators to keep sport safe, fair and inclusive. TFA encourage all members who are involved in junior Touch Football to become familiar with and utilise this resource www.playbytherules.net.au

Over the past 12 months, TFA has consulted members of the Touch Football community to assist in the development of this document and while all care has been taken, Touch Football Australia accepts that errors, omissions or inaccuracies may occur. We encourage affiliate members to provide feedback and raise any concerns that may be considered and updated at the end of 2013.
