This weekend from Port Macquarie to Perth, referees will all be getting an upgrade!
The New South Wales Junior State Cup and the WA State Championships will be the first opportunity for the new referee uniform to be worn.
After a long consultation process and design phase the new kit will make its debut on close to 400 referees.
The new design is in line with the national programs and Australian playing design as well as being high tech with respect to the fabric utilised to provide maximum comfort.
In the coming week a new ordering platform direct with national sponsor KooGa will be launched making it easier than ever to obtain uniforms.
The referee uniform will be worn at all levels and will replace the various styles in circulation in due course. This will mean that there are no extra uniform costs associated with transition from the park through to the national level.
TFA will be working through allocations to referees to minimise the cost of such a replacement as well as applying flexibility at the national events through the panel to manage the use of the old and the new as it is phased in.
TFA would like to thank the feedback of the Referee Panel as well as the National Referee Squad who assisted in providing feedback as well as broader consultation.
We would also especially like to thank TFA Board member, Barry McNamara, and Anthony Smith for the leadership role they played in this process.
