Teams from all over the Territory will play over three days in Men's, Women's and Under 18's Mixed divisions while a Senior anniversary game will be played on Saturday.
The format for all divisions will be that every team plays each other once and the top two teams from each division go through to play in the decider on Sunday.
The Men's Open division will consist of seven teams, three of which are from the regional areas of Alice Springs, Borroloola and Ramingining, with the other teams all from Darwin; BOC Dodgers, Cazaly Crocs, Honkers and Bears. The teams from Darwin will all be favoured to take this out with defending champions Cazaly Crocs the likely favourites with star players Daniel Mintcheff and Mark Tibbits leading the way along with the addition of Western Australia players Trevor Twose and Duncan Brown. Bears have been playing well locally and along with key players Daniel Questroy and Ben Cole, acquire the services of Carlos Araujo who will be a big plus. BOC Dodgers will be at full strength with much reliance on young gun Justin Costello and skipper Brad Griffin however the inclusion of Australian representative Cody Green and Ryan Whyte is a massive bonus. Honkers will also be strengthened with the inclusion of Kelly Ewin, who compliments brothers Marcus and Chris well and they will be sure to ruffle a few feathers. Alice Springs will be well boosted by Clint Broomhall and the Taylor-McInnes brothers Brendan and Cameron with the inclusion of the evergreen Shane Madrill a major positive. Ramingining are full of speedsters all over the park and will be lead well by star player Cam Adams while Borroloola are a bit of an unknown factor but will be hoping to take out a few of the more fancied sides.
The Women's competition consists of five teams, four from Darwin with Alice Springs being the sole regional side. Hoops 4 Health stand out as the side to beat with a plethora of stars at their dispense. Bo De La Cruz, Suzie Cubillo and skipper Tamara Appo lead this side around the park well which is boosted with the addition of National Touch League representative Crystal Browne. Honkers have been one of the standout teams in the local competition with Rachel Willis and Tianna Baird playing awesome Touch Football at the moment and they will be well served with the arrival of young gun Kendell Scott. Sportsco Titans will rely on the key trio of Rachael Curtain, Jo Huddlestone and inspirational skipper Amanda Brimson to win yet another title for this proud club while a team comprising of the best players from the Darwin women’s second division have entered a side; Broncos, which will be well lead around the park by the speedy Selina Petrelli and out to prove they are a force to be reckoned with. Alice Springs bring a strong side looking to spring a few upsets against their more fancied rivals and will be well lead by key players Kirsten Griffin, Rebecca Ranall, Josie Wong and their ever reliable skipper Des Motlop.
The Under 18's tournament will be played in a Mixed format and will have teams from Darwin, Katherine and Alice Springs representing the best junior players in the Northern Territory.
A Golden Oldies Anniversary Game marking the 30th year of Touch Football in the Northern Territory will be played on the Saturday and will consist of Touch Football players associated with the affiliation, dusting off the cobwebs and donning the boots one more time to help celebrate a major milestone for touch in the NT, all in good fun.
