The tournament has now become a permanent four day competition, with 240 teams participating in the biggest school Touch event in the world.

The championships have also attracted Kambala Girls School from New South Wales and United World College (UWC) from Singapore.

Round games will be played for the first three days of the tournament before semi finals commence on Sunday morning, with finals to be played on Sunday afternoon.

The finals will kick off at 1.00pm, with the final of the 13’s Mixed and Junior Boy’s divisions. Finals at 1.35pm will consist of the deciders in the Junior and Open Girl’s divisions, while the Open Boy’s final will be played at 2.10pm. Presentations will be held at the conclusion of the finals, at 2.45pm.

Palm Beach Currumbin will be looking to retain their Junior Boy’s and Mixed titles after their respective wins in 2008. Kirwan State High School will aim to take out the Junior Girl’s title after finishing runner’s up last year, with Benowa State High School not attending in 2009.

In the Open’s divisions, Keebra Park will be looking to retain the Open Boy’s title. In the Open Girl’s, 2008 finalist Bundaberg will be looking to go one place better this year, due to the absence of  last year’s winner – Cavendish Road.
