The 18's Girls team have got Australia off to the perfect start, winning their opening game against New Zealand.

After an opening of which both teams showed early nerves, New Zealand crossed first after repeat sets on Australia's line.

The Peter Bell coached team showed maturity beyond their years to hit back and cross for five unanswered touchdowns to have a formidable 5-1 half time lead.

New Zealand showed areas of brilliance but overall it was Australia who had the solid all round game with the 18's Girls winning 11-4.
