Townsville Brothers touch club dominated the North Queensland junior championships last weekend.

Brothers were present in six of the nine grand final matches played on Sunday with three of their players – Jacob Abel, Jason Norford and Nathan Norford – named players of the final.

The ever-growing event saw 92 teams, comprised of more than 1000 players, compete at the titles.

Of the 92 teams, 40 travelled from cities around the region, including Mackay, Cairns, Atherton, Cloncurry and many places in between.

It was a close contest in the under-10 girls division with Gordonvale defeating Townsville Crocs 3-2 in the final. Gordonvale's Tahila Smith was named player of the final. The boys under-10 division was a walk-over for  Sharks White who defeated Brothers 8-2. Jacob Abel of Brothers was player of the final.

In the under-12 girls division, Mackay defeated Bowen 4-3 and player of the final was Mackay's Olivia Hadok Quadrio. In the boys grand final clash Frogs Green annihilated Brothers 10-0 with Ivan Lynch of Frogs named player of the final. The older division games saw Cairns down Redskins 4-1 in the under-14 girls with Cairns' Connie Finlay player of the final. Brothers Blue dominated the under-14 boys final defeating Brothers White 9-2 with Jason Norford of Brothers Blue player of the final.  In the top division, Sharks defeated Brothers 4-3 in the under-16 girls final while Brothers thrashed Bowen 10-1 in the under-16 boys. Crystal Browne of Sharks and Nathan Norford of Brothers were players of their finals.
