The 2007 National Touch League is Australia's most prestigious touch football tournament. In the lead-up to the NTL, Touch Football Australia will be profiling some of the biggest names in the game who will be in action at the showcase event.

To get the ball rolling, Australian Women's Open star Kelly Woods will be featured under the NTL Spotlight.

There are few more passionate and enthusiastic players in the game than Woods, a player who has represented both Queensland and New South Wales in Origin and has played for Australia at both Youth and Open World Cup level.

In 2007 "Wood duck" will be returning "home" to Brisbane Cobras, one of  the franchises who helped launch her as a representative super star as a teenager.

The kid with the cheeky grin and flashing feet, who had the energizer bunny at hello, has certainly come a long way from her humble beginnings in the Ipswich Touch Association.

An athlete who could have choice of sports, Woods has turned her raw natural ability into pure gold on the touch field, becoming one of  Australia's most accomplished and hard working middle players.

Her resolute defence, footwork, and  opportunistic flair has been complimented by a growing maturity level and confidence that has made her one of the game's very best and most respected players.

The exceptionally gifted Woods,  fresh from playing a starring role in Australia's recent World Cup triumph in Stellenbosch South Africa, is looking forward to the challenge of returning to her old franchise and being coached by master coach Peter Bell.

"It'll be mad being coached by Belly, it was one of the biggest factors in my decision to play again. There are some great young players in this Cobras team, as well as great players like Mary Steele, Ange Barr, and Bec Tavo who I'm really keen to play beside again." Woods said.
