Child Protection Requirements

Child protection within sporting clubs is one of the most important aspects to running a Touch Football Affiliate. Whether your Affiliate offers Junior Competition’s or not children will more than likely be involved or around your Affiliate. Ensuring your Affiliate has Child Safety measures in place will help safeguard your Affiliate and your junior members

Steps to ensure your Affiliate keep Children safe include but are not limited to the following:

  • Affiliate Committee members & leaders demonstrate a commitment to child safety through their actions and behaviour
  • Affiliate Committee members & leaders are interested in the welfare and engagement of children playing their sport
  • Parents and children feel welcomed at the Club
  • Your Affiliate takes steps to raise awareness about child abuse and prevention
  • Your Affiliate takes a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination and abuse of all forms
  • Your Affiliate recognises, respects and promotes cultural identity as being fundamental to a child’s safety and wellbeing
  • Your Affiliate leaders and volunteers undertake training about Child Safety. Parents are also encouraged to take part
  • Your Affiliate ensures all coaches of junior teams or players hold a valid compliant Working with Children Check
