2020 All-Stars Indigenous Australian vs Māori Mixed Touch match

Touch Football tapped off the NRL All-Stars event on Saturday 22nd February at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast with an Indigenous Australian vs Māori Mixed Touch match ahead of the NRLW and NRL matches.

The Māori Touch team came out on top. They led 7-3 at half-time, and continued to dominate until the end, with a full-time score of 12-8.

The Māori team was led by Head Coach John Peeni, with Assistant Coaches Te Aroha Paki and Tristan Mana, while the Indigenous Australian team was led by Head Coach Mel Mitchell and Assistant Coaches Scott Prince and Phil Gyemore.

Co-captains were announced at training – Emus Jordan Marshall-King and Ash Quinlan for the Māoris, and Marikki Watego and Cody Green for the Indigenous Australians.

As part of camp, the teams undertook State of Mind training led by the NRL, ran a school clinic with the kids at Burleigh Heads State School, played matches against All Abilities teams and attended a jersey presentation on the Friday evening.
